The Audio Information Network of Colorado is an on-the-air news and information service. The goal of AINC is to provide quality local news and information to all of Colorado's blind, visually impaired and print handicapped citizens. AINC listeners range in age from 98 years to 6 years of age. AINC listeners are found in the classroom as well as in assisted living facilities. AINC is proud to be able to provide this resource to Colorado's citizens. All of AINC programs are read by volunteers.
All statewide AINC volunteers are managed from the Boulder office. AINC broadcasts span the state of Colorado with access through SAP off of Rocky Mountain PBS on channel 6 (Northern, Eastern and Central Colorado) channel 8 (Southern Colorado) and channel 18 (Western Colorado) Boulder currently runs the majority of AINC programming running 24 hours per day 7 days per week. Colorado Springs runs 44 hours per week of independent programming, with a potential of 70 hours possible in the future. Grand Junction, one of the newer broadcast regions, broadcasts 25 hours of independent programming. Durango will be the newest programming region to be added with 18 hours of independent programming.
AINC is always looking for volunteers that have exceptional verbal skills and a genuine desire to read the AINC programs. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering for AINC please follow the links to the studio information in your area.
